4th & 5th Grade Choir
Dear Fourth and Fifth Grade Parents,
I am going to have a Fourth and Fifth Grade Choir this year. Our rehearsal will be a before school practice. We will practice on Tuesday mornings from 8:15-8:50 a.m. in the music room. Parents will drop their choir students off and students will use the buzzer to enter the building.
We hope to perform 4 times this year. First, during a possible Veterans Day assembly, second, sometime in December, third, at an all school choral festival, March 23 and fourth, at the end of the year. It is important that the students attend the rehearsals so they are well practiced on their music. If a student misses more than two rehearsals before a performance they may be asked to not perform. Appropriate behavior is also expected at rehearsals.
We will work on the basics of music reading, singing on pitch and hopefully singing in two parts. There is not any fee for being in the group however we will purchase tee shirts, $5, so that we look uniform when we perform.
I realize it may be difficult for some parents to be able to provide transportation at this time of day but try to carpool if you can. I will try to post performance dates and general information in my Whitney Choir Google Classroom page. I will be creating that once I have their information. I will also try to communicate through Class Dojo. There may be an occasion where I will need to cancel the before school practice due to a meeting or absence - again I will try to communicate through my Whitney Google Classroom page and by sending out a group email or message on Class Dojo. We will have our first rehearsal on Tuesday, September 7.
Any questions please contact me at dgonczy@scsmustangs.org or 268-5870. You can also contact me through Class Dojo.

Whitney Student Council
The Student Council plays a very important role in every school. They help share students' ideas, interests, and concerns with the teachers and principal. They help the students raise funds for school wide projects and assist the community when they are in need of aid. Being on the Student Council is something that will help our students become responsible and active members of the community.
